Public Scholarship TRainingS

In 2025, Sacred Writes will be offering four virtual public scholarship training for 12 scholars focused on religion, gender, and sexuality, funded by the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation, and led by Sacred Writes Associate Director Brook Wilensky-Lanford. For eligibility and other questions, please see our FAQ page. Here are the applicable dates for all the 2025 trainings.

January 2025 Intensive:

APP DEADLINE: December 16th, 2024 (closed)

TRAINING DATES: January 6th-31st,

Zoom meetings Tuesdays and Thursdays 12-1pm EST. (Jan. 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30).

A four-week online accelerated version of our online training. Time commitment: two one-hour Zoom meetings per week, additional small group meetings; includes an additional month of availability for one-on-one mentorship toward publication with Brook.   

Spring Semester 2025 Training:

APPS DEADLINE: JAN. 27TH

TRAINING DATES: March 6th-April 28th

Zoom meetings: Thursdays from 12-1pm EST (March 6, 13, 20, 27; April 3, 10, 17, 25)

Two-month online training designed for working academics during their teaching semesters. Eight one-hour Zoom meetings will be scheduled Thursday afternoons, plus additional opportunities for one-on-one mentorship with Brook. 

Summer 2025 Training:

APP DEADLINE: APRIL 4TH

TRAINING DATES: May 6th-June 24

Zoom meetings Tuesday from 12-1pm EST. (May 6, 13, 20, 27; June 3, 10, 17, 24)

Two-month online training designed for working academics during their teaching semesters. Eight one-hour Zoom meetings will be scheduled Tuesday afternoons, plus additional opportunities for one-on-one mentorship with Brook. 

August 2025 Intensive:

APP DEADLINE: JULY 7TH

TRAINING DATES: August 5th-28th

Zoom meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12-1pm EST.  (August 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, 28)
